Interlude
Resumption of the Discoball Tour Docu-Series
I am making some changes, one might say additions, that are really improvements, in both focus and time management.
The biggest one is that I have resumed releasing episodes of the Discoball Tour Docu-Series. The difference is that now those will cross-post here, on Substack, and on my YouTube channel. My goal is to release new episodes on Fridays. Probably not every Friday. Maybe most likely every other Friday. It will depend on how my inspiration, time, and content intersect. It is a practice in not forcing it or giving up in order to keep moving forward. The winter storm, broken plumbing, and world events brought everything into slow motion and focus for me.
This week’s episode is all about the interlude—in the series, life and creative process—as I re-start the docuseries.
The Discoball Docu-Series was always conceived to show the story, my story, behind my journey across the United States to record other women’s stories. But once I got home, and decided to release new episodes along with the corresponding podcast episodes (me going a little too hard, too fast), I hit wall.
And that brought me to my on-going journey of another kind. How do I tell the stories I have to tell? Which medium works for what? What is the best timing? How does it feel to put this or that out into the world? Do I feel safe enough at this time to be that kind of vulnerable about that? And what comes up in me that I may want to look at, examine, and, most importantly, release?
I don’t have an editor or a producer, but I do have a crew of amazing, incredible besties and others with whom I hash out those questions. Which is why I am making all of it part of the story as I resume with the series.
And I invite you to come along for the ride!
(Side note: as a survivor of domestic violence, emotional abuse and sexual assault, my safety (emotional, mental, physical, spiritual) is first and foremost. I also feel the responsibility to use my voice and share my story to help someone else. Balancing those two priorities and being responsible to and for myself is an evolving practice of trial and error).
Here is the latest episode: “Interlude”
If you want to see the backlog of episodes I already released, and get a sense of the direction I am taking (in general), links to all previous Discoball Tour episodes are in this post from last week and available on YouTube.
And if you want to know more about the Discoball Tour, this post is a good explainer.

Yes, your safety first, then everything else! Keep going :)
